Lochbuie

Lochbuie is a settlement and estate on the south coast of the Isle of Mull, on the isthmus between Loch Buie and Loch Uisg. There are former homes of the Maclaines of Lochbuie: the ruined 15th century keep of Moy Castle and Old Lochbuie House, built in 1752, where Dr Johnson and James Boswell stayed in 1773. Prehistoric monuments in the area include an ancient stone circle to the north, one of the few in the west of Scotland.
